Frederiksberg Harvest Feast: Madklubben Frederiksberg x EAT GRIM

The chefs at Madklubben Frederiksberg look forward to show the guests how you can transform ’ugly’ and discarded vegetables into something extraordinary with the simple trick of a lot of culinary love. Food waste pioneers EAT GRIM (Eat Ugly) will deliver the vegetables for this outstanding vegetarian menu that you can enjoy at the long table set in the middle of beautiful Frederiksberg Allé.

Madklubben Frederiksberg is a cosy restaurant located in an old listed train station in Frederiksberg. ‘Madklubben’ translates to food club and the restaurant is a relaxed neighborhood restaurant with affordable modern food and a beautiful décor.

The founders of EAT GRIM Carolin Schiermer and Petra Kaukua are on a mission to show people how beautiful and tasty ugly can be. About 1/6 of all vegetables and fruits grown worldwide are lost on farms. In Denmark alone food waste at farms amounts to about 160.000 tons a year. The volunteer-based organization is working hard to change this sad fact with a number of activities.

The practicalities: Each guest has to bring their own plate, cutlery and glass • There will be both beer and wine bars on sight • You will be sitting at the table of the specific restaurant, so be sure to buy tickets for the same restaurant if you want to sit together • We meet at 17.30 and at 18.00 dinner is served • At 21.00 we say thank you and goodbye • In case of rain, we have taken care of a plan B.

Il Fornaio sørger for håndlavet Primitivo surdejsbrød til bordet, og prisvindende økologisk extra jomfru olivenolie til at dyppe brødet i.

Toasted sour dough bread with baked summer greens, young garlic, olive oil and dried olives 

New potatoes, coriander flowers, parsley pesto, Danish ‘Vesterhav’ cheese and curry toasted grains

Broccoli, lemon gem, cucumber and spearmint

Pumpkin with chili, soy sauce and sesame

Grilled leeks, nasturtium and salted yogurt

Beets, rose hip, liquorice, lemon thyme and crunchy grains
