Two old lanterns and a black wooden door mark the entrance to Gensyn on the corner at Rolighedsvej 20. Gensyn Bar is in fact build on the rubble of the old Husar Pub – which used to be a local Frederiksberg hideout, filled with cigarette smoke, worn out seats and slotmachines. Although the bar has been completely refurbished inside and out, owners Terkel Kleist and Dave Jackson have managed to maintain a whole lot of the bodega charm of the old place, just not the smoke and the Gajol shots.

The menu offers a variety of fresh and stiff cocktails, as well as a large selection of mostly local tap beers. You can choose between a wide selection different whiskies, as well as an impressive selection of rum. All the beers can be enjoyed with a recommended whisky pairing or you can explore the wide variety of offerings on the menu.
