Indian Cooking Class with Romy Gill

We are very excited to invite you to a very special cooking class!

You want to learn how to make paneer? Or were wondering what that actually is?
You have tried to make daahl and raita at home, but never with the results you had hoped for?
You are still dreaming of the roti or naan you had on your vacation in India?

That’s your chance – join Romy’s class and learn how to make these dishes yourself! Come and explore rich flavor combinations and find out, what the right level of spiciness is for you.

You will learn to cook 5-6 typical Indian dishes and two types of Indian bread.

At the end of the class, we’ll set the table and you can celebrate an Indian feast and learn about traditional eating habits and Romy’s food culture between India and Great Britain.

About Romy

Romy Gill is the head chef and owner of Romy's Kitchen in Thornbury, which she opened in 2013. She is one of the few female Indian chefs and restaurateur owners in the UK. Aside from running a restaurant, Gill is also a food writer and contributes regular articles to all the food publications. She has written for The Guardian, The Observer and The Telegraph andis now the recipe columnist for independent online! Romy appears regularly on various TV shows and is a BBC radio 4 judge and presenter on food and farming., Gill was recognized for her achievements and appointed an MBE by the Queen in 2016. Romy is writing her first book to be published in 2018.

In our classes

We offer you tea and coffee, water and some snacks upon arrival. You will get an apron and be shown your work station. There are max. 12 people in a class.

After some background information and instructions, you will experience the cooking class and learn how to make the recipes yourself. You will be able to take all recipes of the class with you. The food you made, can be consumed together after the work is done and there will be enough for you to take home.

The 4 hour class plus tea/ coffee, snacks, recipes and the meal you cooked is Kr 1.150. There will be enough food for you to also bring home delicious Indian treats.
