Long Table Dinner in the Herb Garden

Join us for a beautiful lang table dinner in the green herb garden at EnergiCenter Voldparken. This evening we invite you to a unique dinner, incorporating several of the strongest food forces from the local area around Brønshøj and Tingbjerg!

We will set the table and create a lovely atmosphere to ensure an evening of cozy togetherness and good food when the volunteers from Restaurant Virketrang in Tingbjerg and Det Økologiske Folkekøkken in collaboration will create several vegetable based servings, based on seasonal vegetables and herbs from the garden. The green is there to accompany the true cornerstone of the meal, thin Turkish flatbreads with filling, gözleme, made on the spot over fire, by a handful of very talented women from Tingbjerg.

The price includes dinner (vegetable based servings and bread) and dessert. Drinks can be bought on the day.
The event is outdoors, so bring a sweater.

This event is part of a series we have named Mad på Kanten (Food on the Edge). The series is about celebrating the local area and the excellent food initiatives that lives there, as well as the joy of dining together and meeting people around food.

Mad på Kanten is funded by the Festivalpulje by the Municipality of Copenhagen.

About Restaurant Virketrang & Det Økologiske Folkekøkken

Restaurant Virketrang is located in Tingbjerg, in Brønshøj, and is a collaboration between the Hotel- and Restaurant School, Steno and Tingbjerg Forum. The project is about engaging the citizens of Tingbjerg, especially the younger generations, in creating a restaurant. A restaurant that can function as the setting for community and collaborative activities. Every week they have volunteers helping in the kitchen, cooking for a community dinner (folkekøkken) the same day.

Det Økologiske Folkekøkken create great and green food to institutions and guests at EnergiCenter Voldparken. A house run as a socioeconomic business, with the goal of creating activities for the local community within sports, nature and culture. Every Thursday during Spring and Autumn the kitchen will cook for an organic communal dinner - absolutely worth a visit!
