Olive oil tasting and pairing: Taste some of the best olive oils with Oliviers & Co

What does it mean that an olive oil is extra virgin? And why do so many olive oils fail when they are tested?

What kind of olive oil can you put on yogurt with fresh fruit for breakfast? And which olive oil goes best with ripe summer tomatoes?

You will taste and talk about this together when you dive into the world of great extra virgin olive oil with experts Nina Vestmark Christiansen and Mikkel Toft Madsen from Oliviers & Co. The two olive oil nerds will present some of the best olive oils from this year's harvest and guide you on how to play with olive oils with different flavour profiles in the kitchen. Of course, you will taste at least one olive oil from this year's Copenhagen Cooking partner region, Provence.

You will taste olive oil straight in a guided olive oil tasting, and after the tasting you will be given light sharing dishes, where the different olive oils are put into play with the wonderful late summer produce and lovely products from TorvehallerneKBH for this special Copenhagen Cooking tasting.

TO GET THE BEST FLAVOUR EXPERIENCE

A few guidelines to give you the best prerequisites for a great tasting ;)

- Don't smoke before the tasting
- Do not use perfume or heavily perfumed creams etc.
- Wait with coffee until after the tasting and don't eat an hour before the tasting.

We'll be in the tipi tent on the square, so bring clothes suitable for the weather and an extra sweater if it's cold.

Your hosts
Nina and Mikkel are olive oil nerds, and they are the couple behind the Oliviers & Co stores on Gammel Kongevej in Frederiksberg and in TorvehallerneKBH. Here they have specialized in the best extra virgin olive oils, good vinegars and carefully selected delicacies from the Mediterranean area - and they regularly invite interested foodies for olive oil tastings, where the focus is on the best extra virgin olive oils.

Both have trained in the world of olive oil at the Italian olive oil school ONAOO, and Nina is a certified professional olive oil taster.
