Open Kål: Kål & Ko JAM - for the big gold medal

Presented by Mælkeafgiftsfonden x Copenhagen Cooking

Discover 3 women, from 3 different decades, who all have farming experience, love food and are passionate about thinking and communicating about KÅL OG KO.

As the women share their experiences of working with cabbage and cow and their thoughts on the future and the complexity between plants and animals, they cook food that you can taste.

They look forward to hearing your thoughts on Cabbage, Cattle, Dairy and the balance of it all.

Your hosts

Dorrit Andersen, Andrea Topsøe and Trine Krebs - 3 women who think and know a lot about cabbage and cattle

Dorrit Andersen is a horticulturalist and has worked with seeds and vegetables all her life. Dorrit has had vegetables in her hands, both abroad and at home, and she travels the country as a consultant for many vegetable growers, especially Månssons, who produce 40 different vegetable cultures, including at least 10 different types of cabbage.

Andrea Topsøe is a trained organic farmer from KALØ Agricultural College and has worked in a dairy farm at Svanholm and with cows both at home and abroad. Andrea is now studying to become an agronomist and is very interested in how we can create a balanced agricultural landscape.

Trine Krebs is a home economics teacher who has travelled Denmark for 25 years, spreading the joy of eating food with lots of vegetables. She also runs a farm and is very interested in communicating agriculture and the joy of food to all people.

Part of Kål & Ko

The event is part of Kål & Ko, which is part of Copenhagen Cooking's programme both on the festival site and the general programme. Kål & Ko aims to inspire the audience to use dairy in the green kitchen and explore how dairy can add plenty of flavour and nuance when cooking dishes with vegetables and legumes.

The Kål & Ko project is supported by ‘Mælkeafgiftsfonden’.

Cabbage in focus

This year's headliner at Copenhagen Cooking 2024 is cabbage, and under the heading Cabbage Love, it will play an undisputed leading role in the ambition to make this versatile vegetable even more attractive.

Cabbage is full of flavour, affordable, filling, full of health and good for the body and the climate - and it thrives in our local climate. See all food events with cabbage in focus here and buy this year's cabbage poster by Pine Cone Project here.
