Authentic paella over open fire – a sensory journey to Valencia
Join us for a unique show cooking experience, where a real Valencian paella is prepared live over open fire. This is not just about taste – but about an experience that engages all the senses.
The sound of the paella pan sizzling and bubbling. The scent of saffron, garlic and fresh sofrito filling the air. The sight of colourful ingredients slowly coming together in the pan. The warmth of the fire and the sense of community around the food. The taste of an authentic paella – prepared with love and tradition from Valencia.
We invite guests closer to the cooking itself and into the story behind the dish. It will be a lively and engaging experience, where you don’t just taste Spain – you feel it.
An event with heart
Part of the proceeds from the event will be donated to DANAmark Solidaritet, which supports victims of the severe floods in Valencia. For us, this experience is also about giving back to the community that inspired us.
We look forward to sharing our love for paella and bringing an authentic Valencian atmosphere to Copenhagen Cooking 2025.
Your host
Behind the event is Ris Paella, inviting you into a sensory experience where food culture, community, and a love for authentic Valencian paella go hand in hand. With support from Irene, who will also be present on the day to ensure smooth execution, a portion of the profits will be donated to the association DANAmark Solidaritet.
Eva – the voice of paella
Eva is the founder of Ris Paella and grew up in the heart of Valencia, where paella is not just a dish, but a way of life. She has been cooking paella since childhood and brings the tradition into every pan – with respect, pride, and love for the craft she comes from.
Irene – food as a meeting place
Irene is a social entrepreneur and the founder of DANAmark Solidaritet. She previously ran the tapas restaurant Chorines and has extensive experience in using the power of food to bring people together. Irene is passionate about creating meaningful food experiences – and about building bridges between cultures and people.
DANAmark Solidaritet is a Danish-Spanish association working to support those affected by the severe floods in Valencia and surrounding areas in 2024.
In case of bad weather …
Cover will be provided in the form of carpas (large tents/pavilions), protecting both the cooking area and the participants. The carpas will ensure that the show cooking experience and communal dining can go ahead as planned, regardless of the weather. We will provide good ventilation and ensure safety, so the atmosphere and experience are maintained – even in the rain.
