One dinner, two childhood memories. This evening you can experience a unique tasting menu at Nærvær when Maksut Askar from Neolokal in Istanbul get together with Nærvær's amazing chef, Yves Le Lay.

Maksut Askar is the chef and owner of Neolokal, located in the Salt Galata Museum in Istanbul. Neolokal serves modern Anatolian dishes that focus on anatolian traditions, childhood memories and local produce cataloged in the "Ark of Taste" - a project to ensure the survival and heritage of traditional and cultural products and raw produce. Combining modern techniques and innovative solutions with local and traditional cuisine, Maksut makes bridges between the past and future in a sublime and refined experience.

Danish-French Yves Christian Francois Le Lay has previously served as chef in some of the best restaurants in Denmark. Today he is the chef and owner of the restaurant and wine bar Nærvær, where he makes a virtue of combining the classic French cuisine with the simplicity and freshness of the Nordic cuisine. With a unique location in Copenhagen and Yves´creations in the kitchen, Nærvær, which opened in 2016, quickly arrived on the gastronomic map of top restaurants in Denmark.

With a common philosophy, based on the absolute best ingredients as well as innovation and playful curiosity challenging the traditional, the two cooks will create a very special tasting menu that will be based on each of their childhood memories. You can therefore expect an extraordinary experience and once-in-a-lifetime menu when Nordic, French and Anatolian melt together.
