In Denmark we throw away more than 800,000 tons of food every year– food that could have been eaten if we took a different approach.

Lunas Køkken takes on the challenge with a different kind of cooking school. One Sunday a month we invite participants to cook from a "mystery box" filled with surplus food provided by FødevareBanken.

No recipes, no predictability – just creativity, innovation and a lot of fun.

At Lunas Køkken we will use our cooking experience to show how ingredients that are considered ready to go in the bin can be turned into the most wonderful food. It could be an oil made from your excess herb stems, or the most delicious umami powder from onion skins.

Participants will not only learn how to avoid to waste food – they will experience how surplus ingredients can be turned into gastronomic experiences. At the same time, 15% of the participation fee goes directly to the FødevareBanken, so that we can support their important mission which is to transform food waste into social value through a nationwide effort that contributes to increasing social, economic and green sustainability and transition.

We want to change food waste, one plate at a time with our participants.

Note: Drinks are not included in the price, but it is possible to purchase separately at good prices during the cooking school.
