Cooking legend and cultural icon Julia Child, along with her pioneering public television series from the 1960s, The French Chef, introduced French cuisine to many. In her signature passionate way, Julia forever changed the way we cook, eat and think about food. This dinner event is an ode to her work, created in a contemporary and plant based rendition in the signature style of The Caribbean Housewife. Bon appétit!
Our HOUSEWIFE ROAST with natural wine pairings from women producers is very much loved. The next dinner event consists of a 4-course menu with the following signature dishes:
SOUPE À L'OIGNON GRATINÉE
Our humble rendition of Julia Child’s signature caramelised onion soup with white wine and cognac, toasted baguette, and parmigiano-reggiano.
GNOCCHI À LA PARISIENNE
French potato dumplings made with pâte à choux, topped with pecorino romano, and black pepper; dressed in a heavenly sage butter sauce.
Our version of this all-time classic with roasted mushrooms, rosemary, thyme, and a hint of truffle.
TARTE TATIN AUX POIRES
Up-side-down tart with caramelised Anjou pear, cinnamon, and Dry Orange Curaçao; complimented with our creamy coconut-vanilla ice cream.
