Cook with and for the city's homeless and vulnerable

Presented by Skraldecaféen

Skraldecaféen is a community-run socio-economic experience kitchen. But Skraldecaféen is not an ordinary café - it is actually not a café at all. With us, there are no chefs and no waiters to make and serve the food for you. In return, it is quite free to join.

In Skraldecaféen, we work from the idea that everyone can contribute something. So therefore we do not cook FOR people, but WITH people. Cooking is the tool we use to create new communities. Because food is something that everyone has a relationship with, and therefore also a topic that most people easily can have a conversation about - even with people you have not met before.

  • Those who participate decide what they want to cook and whether the dishes should be vegan - only the imagination sets limits.
  • We get surplus food delivered from local supermarkets every day.
  • We help each other find the ingredients we want to cook from, and then start in our large shared kitchen.
  • We cook together, and eat with the homeless and vulnerable who resides in the area.
  • We pack and put leftovers in our Free Fridge, where the homeless can get food around the clock

Address: Jægergårdsgade 168, inde i gården foran REUSE
