On June 12th you can enjoy a traditional afternoon tea at Kogebogeriet. We will serve four salty dishes, two types of scones and four small cakes - accompanied by all the tea you can drink. We have brought home a real Englishman for the occasion and we promise that it will be very cozy.
Afternoon tea is an English tradition that dates back to the mid 19th century. It is said to have been introduced by the seventh Duchess of Bedford who felt the gap between lunch and dinner was too long. By 1880, afternoon tea had become a fashionable social event.
Nowadays served across the world, traditional afternoon tea consists of a selection of finger sandwiches or savoury bites, scones with jam and clotted cream, along with small cakes and pastries, all accompanied by a choice of tea.
