Foraging trip to Hornbæk Plantage and the beach
Presented by Sanketure
It is possible to find delicious edible wild food in the danish nature. On our foraging trip we will guide and help you spot the wild food, both on the beach and in the forest by the Hornbæk Plantage.
Address: Nordre Strandvej, 3100 Hornbæk
Thomas and Nina will guide you in nature and see what we can find of wild food. Thomas is a trained chef with many years experience with foraged food and has lots of experience cooking with wild ingredients.
We will walk along the beach and forest on the lookout for the edible plants of early summer.
We help sourcing out, recognizing, identifying and together we taste the different wild plants and give you further advice for use in your own cooking.
We are not the only ones excited about foraged food, many chefs and well known restaurants use them in their dishes. But this does not mean that wild food can't be used in everyday food, and help spice your food, especially when you're tired of the same vegetables and herbs from your local supermarket.
We can't guarantee certain plants as nature runs it's own course, and the animals also enjoy natures pantry, but we do expect to find enough for a meal you can take home and cook to really get a taste of wild food. We focus on the gastronomic aspect on our foraging excursions and we care about making meals wild, foraged and always delicious.
Together Thomas and Nina also have the company Kokkemanden.com where they share recipes, videos and photos of regular food and wild foraged food. Now they have started this company, Sanketure, to share the joy of foraged food with others.
The trip is on Saturday the 23rd of May at 1:00 PM. We meet on the parking lot by Hornbæk Plantage.
It is the 2nd parking lot, when driving on Nordre Strandvej with directions towards Hornbæk., the parking lot is placed directly out to the sea, with big rocks.
It will be around 2 hours and we expect to walk around 5 km.
Dress according to the weather, and feel free to bring your own herb knife and basket for your foraged goods.
We advise that you only come if you show no symptoms, to keep us all, including yourself, safe and healthy. We are keeping a safe distance and have hand sanitizer for all of our guest.
If you do become ill before an event, please feel free to contact us before the time of the event, and we will figure something out.
We look forward to sharing natures wild food!
Thomas and Nina
