PROGRAM
16.00 Departure from The Culture Tower at Knippelsbro.
17.00-22.00 Arrival at CPH Village for barbecue, pop-up bar, and live music!
On the quay and in the Fælleshus you will be able to enjoy food from the grill and buy cold drinks from the pop-up bar and Molevitten kiosk. The event is open to everyone, but if you buy your ticket here, the boat trip and a barbecue sausage will be included in the price. Enjoy the warmth of the grill while the music is playing and the mood is rising! On the quay, we will provide chalk, skipping ropes, and free games for the little ones.
18.30 Warm up your voice! A sing-along led by choirmaster Jon Hollesen who will present the after-hours choir from Nørrebro Theater.
19.00 Bonfire speeches - ANNOUNCED LATER
19.30 We will put on a fire and sing the midsummer song. The kids will light paper lanterns and send them towards the sky.

BRIDGE TOUR AND GRILL CHILL ON THE QUAY
We will meet 16.00 in front of The Culture Tower. From here, you can get drinks for the boat trip. Together we will walk to Cirkelbroen where we go aboard the boat that will take us around the harbor on a one-hour tour. We will start the evening with a mini bridge tour before we anchor at CPH Village at Refshaleøen. You will get a few bridge stories along the way, but most of the time will be spent enjoying the water side of Copenhagen before we reach Refshaleøen. Here, the big barbecue will provide you with hot barbecue sausages at long tables while live music is playing! There will be chalk, skipping ropes, and free games for the cool kids.
SING-ALONG, SPEECH, AND SANKT HANS BONFIRE
At 18.30, choirmaster Jon Hollesen and pianist Mads Strandgaard from Nørrebro Theater will lead us strongly and confidently into sing-along. Song books will be provided and together we will infuse the quay with life, warm nights, and Danish summer as the two professionals make the experience lively, fun, and straightforward. The bonfire speech will start at 19.00 – more info will follow – and at 19.30 the bonfire will be lit as we sing the midsummer song. It is possible to get cold drinks and hot food from the grill until 22:00 or as long as there is food in stock.

“Sankt Hans at Refshaleøen – The Culture Tower x CPH Village” is open to everyone who wants to participate in cosiness on the quay. However, to be able to join the boat trip with a barbecue sausage included in the ticket you must buy the ticket here. The event takes place outside and bad weather may occur. It is possible to take bus 9A back to Christianshavns Station or the harbor bus back to Knippelsbro.
ABOUT THE CULTURE TOWER X CPH VILLAGE
CPH Village explores a new way of living and living together as young adults. Following the saying “small but good”, 160 students are living together at Refshaleøen on fairly compromised space in movable container homes with access to cool common areas. In The CPH Village Common House on the quay, residents and Copenhageners are invited to meet for common meals, Friday bar, yoga, and knitting club events – all under the same roof. CPH Village collaborates with other cultural initiators to occupy and explore new spaces in the city. The next student town is soon to be under construction at Vesterbro in Copenhagen.
Since The Culture Tower opened its doors to the public in the summer of 2017, the small bridge tower has hosted everything from exhibitions, pop-up restaurants, concerts, talks, sleepovers in the tower, performances, and radio cinemas. In 2018, The Culture Tower won the “Ibyen Prize” from Politiken as the "Place of the Year", and in 2019 the tower won the “Building Prize Award” from the city of Copenhagen. The Culture Tower is dedicated to facilitate culture and a space for community spirit in one of the most iconic buildings in the city.
The Culture Tower collaborates with CPH Village to create cultural experiences in the unexplored spaces in Copenhagen throughout 2019.
