From September 13th to October 12th 2023 Copenhagen will host, once again, seminars guided by Thomas Ilkjær and Christian Thoursholt Jacobsen to spread and promote the Piedmontese wine culture in Denmark.

The 2023 program includes four tasting seminars on Piedmontese wines in the prestigious cooking school Hotel – og Restaurantskolen of Copenhagen. The lessons will be held by Thomas Ilkjær, director of the Piemonte Wine School in Denmark, responsible of Vinakademiet, the school for sommeliers in Copenaghen, and author of the most important guide on Italian wines published in North Europe and and by sommelier, restaurant manager and teacher at the Vinakademiet Christian Thoursholt Jacobsen.

Nebbiolo: the noble variety of Piedmont in many different shapes
Teacher: Thomas Ilkjær 
Nebbiolo has a unique and recognizable profile, but it changes nevertheless its nuances depending on growing condition and vinification. We shall take a detailed look at Nebbiolo and test its many versions from all over the region.

Barbera and Dolcetto: the beauty of everyday wines

Barbera and Dolcetto are some of Piedmonts most planted varieties and very important contributors to the wine culture and everyday life of the region. They are perfect partners to Piedmont’s cuisine an provide great everyday-drinking-pleasure.

The hidden treasures of Piedmont
Teacher: Christian Thoursholt Jacobsen
Beyond the famous Nebbiolo wines, Piedmont holds a true treasure of indigenous grape varieties and rare wines with great personality. We find whites with ageing potential, sparkling from champagne grapes, unique reds and sweet specialties.
