The theme for this evening is this vegetarian kitchen, where David de Silva prepares and serves the food.
We start with Sri Lankan snacks served with a delicious Sri Lankan inspired cocktail. Then a vegetarian dinner with lots of vegetables, spicy sambols and traditional samba rice, often served in Sri Lanka. The dinner ends with a small dessert.

  • Sri Lankan snacks & welcome drink
  • Pumpkin Curry - pumpkin in a mild spicy sauce with coconut milk and curry leaves
  • Beetrooth curry - Beetroots prepared with dark roasted curry, herbs and red chili
  • Bald Mallung - lightning green leaves with grated coconut, turmeric and mustard seed
  • Dhal - red lentils in mild sauce with onions, cloves, cardamom and cinnamon
  • Coconut sambol - coconut with finely chopped onions, red chili, lime juice and black pepper
  • Srilankan salad - red onion turned with lime, tomatoes, pineapple and lots of black pepper
  • Samba rice - Sri Lankan rice with an aromatic scent and small
  • Dessert
Extra drinks can be purchased during dinner, if desired
 
Hoppers by KANDY SPICES
Hoppers by KANDY SPICES is the first Sri Lankan pop up restaurant in Northern Europe, in addition to Britain. David de Silva is raised in Denmark with a Danish mother and a Sri Lankan father. For many years, David de Silva drove the DAVIDS BISTRO restaurant in Copenhagen and  cooked at Go'Morgen Denmark on TV2.
Now he has cast his love on his culinary legacy from Sri Lanka and the memories of his grandmother's pots. After travelling around Sri Lanka's culinary landscape David de Silva started the brand KANDY SPICES in 2016, which produces spice blends, chili sauces and pop-up events. Since 2016, he has worked intensively with Sri Lankan cuisine to accurately hit the authentic taste, and now it is time for the rest of the world to experience Sri Lankan cuisine as well.
